If I tell you it’s Christmas Day in just over two weeks time, will you be as shook as I was to hear that?! Yikes – how did it come around so quickly? I’m not prepared. I’m deeply disorganised. Time has run away with me. Ehhhhhhh?! All of the above are applicable and I’m trying my best not to go into panic mode and just buy the first thing. Slow and steady wins the race, and this year I’m trying to be even more thoughtful than ever before with my gifting and thinking more about experiences than things that people might not really want. It’s tough, you want to show people you love them by sharing gifts, but I also want to be thoughtful and sustainable.
That was a deep opening paragraph for what is essentially a post about all the pretty festive lights that have popped up all over. I am many things, but I can absolutely 100% say that I’m a sucker for all the pretty lights and shiny colours. There’s just something about them that makes me smile and feel all warm and fuzzy inside.
So far I’ve seen the lights in Stockton, Middlesbrough, Newcastle and Alnwick and still to come we have a night booked at Beamish Christmas (SO EXCITED!) and to put up our own tree! Want to take a look as well? Here’s some highlights.
First up is Alnwick town centre – the castle was definitely a stunner!
Then I’ve got some from Middlesbrough.
And one from the Fenwicks’ Christmas window, themed around Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
See? Total sucker!
I can’t wait for Beamish – I think it’s going to be the absolute highlight!
Christmas is coming…you know it really is!
